It’s where a work commute is measured in minutes and number of waves from your neighbors. Where great high-tech jobs can be found. It’s where you’ll find award-winning schools with one of the highest graduation rates in Washington State. It’s a place where you feel safe. Where families thrive. It’s home to some of the best recreation in the world. And it’s all so affordable.
That’s Sedro-Woolley, Washington.
Located minutes from Interstate 5 and on the banks of the beautiful Skagit River, Sedro-Woolley is midway between Vancouver, Canada, and Seattle, Washington. Sedro-Woolley is located on Highway 20 and is the gateway to the North Cascades National Park, which annually attracts 750,000 visitors.
The city is home to the region’s largest aerospace and technology firm, Janicki Industries with over 600 employees. United General Hospital has consistently been rated one of the top hospitals in Washington State for care of patients.
Sedro-Woolley has an outstanding school district that serves 4,000 students. Contrary to state and national statistics of a 68-70% graduation rate, in Sedro-Woolley we have a 90% district graduation rate, students graduating in four years. This year’s graduates received over $2.6 million in scholarships.
The city’s downtown district is decorated with historical murals, life-size cedar statues that have been carved by chainsaw and hand finished, and attractive gas lamp replicas. In addition to spectacular recreation, Sedro-Woolley has a seasonal Farmer’s Market, Historical Museum, golf course and year-round destination festivals.
The city is the gateway to both the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and North Cascades National Park – both are headquartered in Sedro-Woolley. Riverfront Park, located on the Skagit River, is a popular destination and is the home of an amphitheater and a boat launch. In 2012, the city dedicated a new state-of-the-art skate park that attracts boarders from around the Northwest.
Founded over 100 years ago, Sedro-Woolley is proud of its tradition of innovation, hard work and excellence. We look forward to seeing your smile!
